Quality Testing

The purpose of testing is to find defects and problems in document. It helps to find the problems and report it but not to fix it. Test techniques include, but are not limited to, the process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding mistakes.

Software Quality Assurance (QA) involves the entire software development process – monitoring and improving the process, making sure that any agreed upon standards and procedures are followed and ensuring that problems are found and dealt with. Testing can also be stated as the process of validating and verifying the application that it meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development, works as expected and can be implemented with the same characteristics.

For a tool to be good at website quality and performance testing, many aspects need to be supported. Throughout our evaluation, we have taken into consideration some of the most needed aspects including website commonly used techniques and link recovery issues. There are a number of testing methods used in website or software testing. It includes

1. Black Box Testing – Not based on any knowledge of internal design or code.
2. White Box Testing – Based on knowledge of the internal logic of an application code.
3. Unit Testing – The most micro scale of testing, to test particular functions or code modules.
4. Integration Testing – Testing of combined parts of an application to determine if they function together correctly.
5. System Testing – Black Box type testing that is based on overall requirements specifications.

The above are some of the testing methods. At ARCS, we use Black Box Testing method. It is a method that tests the functionality of an application as opposed to its internal structures or workings. Specific knowledge of the application code or internal structure and programming knowledge in general is not required.
